The Apple Watch will connect to Life Fitness cardio machines with just a simple tap |
|
Fitness equipment manufacturer Life Fitness has announced a collaboration with Apple that will see Life Fitness cardio equipment seamlessly connect to the Apple Watch.
Apple Watch users will be able to track their workouts by simply tapping their watch to the fitness console at the beginning of their workout.
Once connected the equipment and the Apple Watch exchange data including heart rate, calories burned, distance, speed and incline and provide the user with accurate details of their performance.
Jamie Irick, president of Life Fitness, says: “There are over 700 million workouts per year on our cardio machines across the globe, and we know that exercisers want personalised workouts with easy data tracking. This new capability is another example of how we’re innovating to deliver exceptional experiences to exercisers.”
Irick adds: “Life Fitness is committed to supporting customer outcomes by offering connected club solutions that personalise exerciser experiences and provide intelligence for informed business decisions.”
Connectivity with Apple Watch will also be made available on Life Fitness’ premium cardio consoles, the Discover SE3 HD Tablet consoles, in late 2017.
